FALL SEMESTER 2017  dates coming soon

Budding Ballerinas (Age 18 months)

This gorgeous class is designed for little ones who want to dance but are so tiny! Toddlers are in motion when they start turning over, crawling and walking, so at age 18 months, it’s only natural to enroll them in our Budding Ballerina class which is part toddler ballet as well as creative dance for toddlers.  We uses props, stories and songs to teach balance, rhythm, movement, coordination, and basic ballet steps. Parents are invited to stay and participate.

Fairy Ballet (Age 2)

This wonderful class is designed for children who want to dance but are not quite old enough to join a ballet class. We uses props, stories and songs to teach balance, rhythm, movement, coordination, and basic ballet steps. Parents are invited to stay and participate.

Pre School (Age 4)

This class is for children who are ready to separate from their parent and dance independently. In this class exercises promote early childhood development with a focus on body awareness, gross motor skills and individual expression through Creative Movement. The program includes basic ballet steps, balance, rhythm, flexibility, coordination, and creativity. Simple stretches and isolation exercises help to develop flexibility and body awareness. A favorite segment of class deals with traveling steps across the floor to encourage coordination and musicality. Listening skills and classroom etiquette are emphasized. Class meets one or more times a week for 45 minutes.

Pre Primary (Age 5)

Pre Primary is a continuation of Pre-Ballet that prepares the student for the Pre Primary presentation class. Class begins with conditioning exercises to develop strength, balance and coordination. Introductory barre exercises are incorporated to develop good posture and to stress proper alignment. Music Appreciation is included to instill melody and rhythm into each class. A favorite segment of class deals with traveling steps across the floor to encourage coordination and musicality. Listening skills and classroom etiquette are emphasized. Class meets one or more times a week for 45 minutes.

Primary (Age 6)

As the next progression from Beginner Ballet, Primary is the first introduction to Royal Academy of Dance training.  With the option to examine in the spring, students will continue with their development of technique and presentation through a combination of curriculum designed to ensure the student reaches their full potential.  If your dancer has the desire to complete their first ballet exam, they must attend two classes per week.
