Mommy & Me (Age 2)
This class is structured to stimulate coordination skills, listening skills, balance, music interpretation, creative movement and motor development in the youngest dancers, ages 2-3 years. This program is an excellent introduction to the world of dance and lots of fun for Mom and dancer! Mom will also participate in class with the dancer.
Fairy Ballet (Age 2.5)
This wonderful class is designed for children who want to dance but are not quite old enough to join a ballet class. We uses props, stories and songs to teach balance, rhythm, movement, coordination, and basic ballet steps.
Pre School (Age 3 & 3.5)
This class is for children who are ready to separate from their parent and dance independently. In this class exercises promote early childhood development with a focus on body awareness, gross motor skills and individual expression through Creative Movement. The program includes basic ballet steps, balance, rhythm, flexibility, coordination, and creativity. Simple stretches and isolation exercises help to develop flexibility and body awareness. A favorite segment of class deals with traveling steps across the floor to encourage coordination and musicality. Listening skills and classroom etiquette are emphasized. This class meets once a week for 45 minutes.
Pre Primary (Age 4.5 - 6)
The Pre-Primary class is the first year in which students are introduced to the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Syllabus. Students will gain a basic understanding of ballet technique and ballet posture. Improved coordination of the body and teamwork will be cultivated as students learn a variety of dance steps and challenging dance patterns. This class meets once a week for 45 minutes.
Primary (Age 6 - 7)
As the next progression from Pre Primary, Primary is the first introduction to Royal Academy of Dance training. With the option to examine in the spring, students will continue with their development of technique and presentation through a combination of curriculum designed to ensure the student reaches their full potential.
